Attaching directly to the expansion port of a compatible Shelly PRO device, the Modbus Add-on RS485 provides stable, long-distance, and noise-resistant communication over the widely adopted RS485 standard. Supporting both Modbus Client and Modbus Server modes, it allows Shelly devices to read data from external equipment such as energy meters, solar inverters, HVAC systems, and controllers, while also sharing device measurements, status information, and operational data with central management systems.
